Children are precious, and the life of one is surely worth a few hours’ arrival delay. The passengers on flight EK049 from Dubai sure felt so.
On October 10th, a flight from Dubai bound for Munich was diverted to Kuwait when a child on the flight fell in and needed immediate medical attention.
In an effort to save the child’s life, the crew of the flight decided to divert it to Kuwait to give the child the much needed medical attention.
Upon landing at Kuwait International Airport, medics attended to the child, but unfortunately, the child died. It is however not clear if the child died before landing or died while being attended to by the medics.
The airline released a statement to Gulf News stating the incident and their efforts to try to save the child’s life.
They also expressed their deepest condolences to the bereaved family. The child’s identity and nationality were, however, withheld.
The flight in question departed from Munich a while after the child passed away arriving in Munich two and a half hours behind schedule.
