A bag man of a big illegal drug group in Negros Occidental named three top politicians in Western Visayas for being a drug protector.
According to the affidavit signed by Ricky Sereño, who’s known as the bag man of Beria drug group, Senator Franklin Drilon, Former DILG Secretary Mar Roxas and Iloilo City Mayor Jed Mabilog had a plan of monopolizing the illegal drug business in the of Western-Visayas/Negros.
“That in this affidavit, I will identify the personalities involved and narrate the facts and circumstances surrounding the drug trade propagated by the so-called narcopoliticians in the Visayan region. I am referring to the drug lords being protected by none other than Mar Roxas and Franklin Drilon, who had the plan of controlling the illegal drug business in the Western Visayas-Panay/Negros,” Sereño said in his affidavit.
Sereño claimed that Iloilo Mayor Jed Mabilog protected alleged Iloilo City former drug lords Melvin Odicta, Sr. and his wife Merriam Odicta.
“However, there is a deeper reason that that affliation. Mayor Mabilig is the indefatigable protector/strong supporter of the former druglord Melvin Odicta Sr. who formed his famous conjugal illegal drug operations with his wife Merriam Odicta, operating centrally in Iloilo City making it the most ‘shabulized’ City in the country,” he added.
Sereño also said that the drug group where he belongs that owned by Berya Tolentino was rivaled by the group of Melvin Odicta.
The affidavit says that Odicta used his connection to Roxas and Drilon to monopolize the drug trade by using the government forces to destroy the drug business of the Berya Drug Group in Negros, so Melvin Odicta can take-over.
“That while they consider me as a useful and a potelntial go-to person, this Roxas-Drilon drug scheme in partnership with Melvin Odicta was designed to take-over the drug trade in Negros by kicking out Berya Tolentino and Camaria from their dominance as local drug suppliers.” he said.
“Being in power with close association to the PNP, it was easy for the Roxas-Drilon tandem to paralyze, and even overthrow the Berya-Camaria drug operations and wipe out these groups from operating in the Negros Island,”he added.
Amid the intensified war against drugs by the Duterte administration, the Odicta couple was killed on Aug 29, 2016 at the Caticlan Jetty Port in Aklan. PNP Chief Ronald Dela Rosa said the Odictas get their supplies from drug syndicates from the National Bilibid Prison.
Aksyon Radyo Iloilo Facebook page posted the photos of the affidavit sworn by Sereño.
President Rodrigo Duterte, repeatedly mention the name of Iloilo City Jed Mabilog as one of the top narco politicians in the Philippines.
This accusation was also repeatedly denied by Mabilog and he said that he’s ready for a lifestyle check so he can prove that he’s innocent and not accepting any drug money from drug lords.
Mabilog is now currently overseas to seek treatment in his diabetes mellitus type 2.
